Where does the platypus come from?

After studying 'The Ballad of Rango' I found out that all of the animals in Rango are animals that live in the same area. (the Wild West)
As a result of this I decided to find out where the Duck-Billed Platypus originates from and find some other interesting animals that live there as well.

Lucky me!!!!! The platypus originates from Australia. Australia has some of the most interesting animals in the world and to the right you can see that I chose just a small amount of animals that instantly interested me.
